2020 PANDEMIC RELIEF

With the 2020 shutdown of business due to Covid-19, several nonprofit organizations lost income due to reduced donor support or closure of a supporting business. The Foundation was pleased to provide additional support to the Sierra Foothill Conservancy, the SPCA of Mariposa County, and Soroptimist International of Mariposa in November 2020.

2017 DETWILER FIRE

In 2017, the Detwiler Fire ravaged the community. When the catastrophe was finished, 81,826 acres had been burned and 63 homes had been destroyed.

Due to the incredible generosity of the Rural County Representatives of California, as well as a large number of donations from private individuals, we were able to assist with recovery efforts for the many affected families. Working with the Mariposa County Health and Human Services Agency, the Mariposa Community Foundation was able to provide individual grants to fire victims to keep them going at this time of immense loss and need.
